DBC, Documentation Based Care™ is the global leader in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. For over 20 years DBC has pioneered a growing global network of advanced specialist centers.
Our mission is to provide:
- Effective outcomes for patients
- Efficient clinician-patient sessions
- Economical to implement and to administer
We began in 1994 with back restorative protocols, followed by neck (1997) and shoulder (2003) diagnostic treatments. Detailed training programs accompany all aspects of our services to ensure quality assurance for our patients and clinicians.
Our signature program, DBC Active Spine Care®, is the only evidence-based, bio-psychosocial spine functional restoration program identified as the best treatment for back pain by the independent reviews of clinical research. The DBC Active Spine Care® program is a comprehensive treatment method for addressing back and neck pain in patients with diminished spine function.
The DBC Active Spine Care® program is a comprehensive bio-psychosocial spine functional restoration program that incorporates specialized FDA medical devices, to safely isolate the spine and provide an individualized and targeted adaptation response to the ligaments and muscles that are critical in stabilizing the spine and returning you to a more meaningful life. The copyrighted and published protocol has shown to produce significant long-term reductions in pain, trouble, and impairment while increasing strength, range-of-motion and paraspinal endurance worldwide.

Why should I change from physical therapy and chiropractic to DBC health?
The independent reviews of clinical research show that the current treatment methods don’t provide long-tern outcomes for LBP patients. In fact the research shows that over 60% of those treated will have a recurrent episode within the first year. For decades evidence based science has shown that exercise/movement is the best modality of intervention for LBP. The current methods of treating low back pain are symptom based, don’t address the underlying problem, and provide the long-term outcomes needed for decreasing recurrent episodes.
DBC Health is using the evidenced based spine functional restoration program, DBC Active Spine Care® that has documented to provide 85%-90% outcomes in over 150,000 chronic pain patients worldwide and has saved employers millions of dollars a year. You can view the difference in their . Here are some of the results of current U.S. based clinics (show QA reports – let me know if you want some of these).
Insurance premiums, coinsurance, and copays are higher than ever. NEWCO has an evidenced based treatment program that is far superior to current rehabilitation programs and will save the patient money now and in the long term. If the patient does not have radicular symptoms, then send them to NEWCO and if they are not improving in the first 6 visits, we will return them to you for further evaluation.
Who will be treating my patients in this program?
DBC has strict guidelines about the treatment procedure and one of those is that a clinician must be certified and pass both a clinical test and a written test to treat patients in the DBC Active Spine Care® program orver seen by our Medical Director Dr. Darcy Brunk of DBC health Inc. You can be assured that if any abnormalities begin with your patients, they will be sent back to you for further exam.
What is the duration of the treatment?
The published scientific research with chronic low back pain shows that visits of two (2) times per week for a period of 12-16 weeks showed the most statistically significant long-term outcomes. As you know, once LBP occurs the stabilizing structures of the spine atrophy very quickly, however there return to normalcy takes far longer, somewhere between 10-14 weeks. You also know that some patients with the same pathology will respond quicker than others. In general U. S. clinics average 18 visits but it is really a lifestyle that ill keep reoccurrence from happening, so weekly or monthly visits are still required.. BDC Health treatment session is approximately 30 minutes in length, saving the patient a considerable amount of time compared to physical therapy or chiropractic care.
What is the cost compared to physical therapy or chiropractic treatments.
Physical therapy and chiropractic treatments are based on insurance reimbursement models of 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes of treatment time for maximum reimbursement. There is no scientific evidence showing that extra time, modalities, etc. help the patient’s condition. At NEWCO with the DBC Active Spine Care® program, we focus on the scientific evidence about load, motion, and repetition changing the functionality of the stabilizing structures of the spine. We accomplish in 20-30 minutes what they cannot accomplish in a 1-hour session. The cost averages about 20 per visit, which is far less than the current insurance copay.
How will this DBC Health program benefit my practice and me?
Most physicians tell us that the hardest patients to deal with are those with low back pain. This is primarily true because of the scientific evidence showing the 60+% recurrent rate after the initial treatment. If we accomplish our goal with the patient, it also makes you look good for referring them to us, let alone not having them return to you after failure in other treatments. We make it very clear to you and your patient that 85%-90% of those that are treated have significant reductions in pain, trouble, impairment, and improved functionality. So that leaves 10%-15% that may not respond to the treatment. That is a smaller figure than 60%. Here is what a few physicians have to say about the program:
“There shouldn’t be a good physician around that wouldn’t fully support this method after all the research and technology that has been shown and the results it produces.” MD Ft. Worth, TX
I’ve been sending my patients to DBC Active Spine Care® for over 8 years. This technology far exceeds the normal physical therapy that I use to send my patients to. Chronic pain patients have been through physical therapy (manual, spine stabilization, McKenzie, etc.) with short-term results. DBC Active Spine Care® is a restorative program focusing not only on reducing pain, but also in restoring function to the spine. DR. S.S., DO Fort Worth, Texas
